Throughout the year, SeasonTicketRights.com encourages its employees to volunteer with various organizations in and around the Houston area. This year, two of the company’s top executives, Kyle Burks, the President, and Tim Siek, the Director of Marketplace Operations, have volunteered their time for the American Heart Association’s Bear Bryant College Football Coach of the Year Awards.

The Bear Bryant College Football Coach of the Year Awards has been an annual tradition commemorating the life and achievements of Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. Paul “Bear” Bryant was best known as the coach of the University of Alabama and the coach of the infamous “Junction Boys” from Texas A&M University. During his coaching career at the University of Alabama, Coach Bryant had several undefeated seasons, won six national titles and won thirteen SEC championships.

Seven coaches have been nominated for this year’s Paul “Bear” Bryant College Football Coach of the Year Award. These coaches include: Frank Beamer from Virginia Tech, Sylvester Croom from Mississippi State, June Jones from the University of Hawaii, Mark Mangino from the University of Kansas, Les Miles from Louisiana State University, Gary Pinkel from the University of Missouri, and Ron Zook from the University of Illinois. All of these coaches had incredible seasons and they are all well-deserving of the award.

The American Heart Association relies heavily on volunteers to orchestrate and raise money for their events. Both Kyle Burks and Tim Siek from SeasonTicketRights.com have volunteered their time to help the American Heart Association in the past- most recently at the Heart Walk event in December 2007. Tim was asked why he volunteers for the American Heart Association, and he replied “It’s a good cause that sometimes goes overlooked. I know several people that have been affected by a heart-related illness, and I want to do what I can to make a difference.”

Both Kyle and Tim believe it is important to share their time and talents in order to help others. Kyle said that “Participating with the Bear Bryant Awards was a no brainer.  This event is a huge deal for the college football community, and, more importantly, it is a great opportunity to help a very worthy charity organization.  I very much believe in the importance of volunteering and giving back to my community.”

The Paul “Bear” Bryant College Coach of the Year will take place on January 17, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency located in Downtown Houston.  For sponsorships, donations, and volunteer opportunities, visit www.americanheart.org/bryantawards.
